近年来，学生资助政策体系实现所有学段、所有学校、所有家庭经济困难学生“三个全覆盖”，党的十八大以来，资助学生约16.2亿人次、资助总金额约2.6万亿元。重点高校招收农村和贫困地区学生专项计划招生人数由2012年的1万人增至2023年的13.4万人，累计录取学生近110万人。30万以上人口县均设有特殊教育学校。
